Division of Biostatistics

The Division of Biostatistics in the Department of Public Health Sciences supports basic and clinical research in the School of Medicine and conducts research on biostatistical methodology. We provide support to investigators throughout the School of Medicine.

Current collaborations include projects on genetic markers and radiation biology of prostate and bladder cancer; hormone replacement therapy and coronary heart disease; transluminal balloon angioplasty after aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage; endometriosis and Dioxin exposure in Italy; prediction of quitting work in Maquilla (border) industries; surveys of work hazards and health problems of farmers and farm workers; cancer prevention among female migrant and seasonal farmworkers, and the early detection of glaucoma.

Graduate study in biostatistics is coordinated through the Graduate Group in Biostatistics which provides interdisciplinary biostatistical research and training activities for students. The program offers the degrees Ph.D. in Biostatistics and M.S. in Biostatistics.

The Division of Biostatstics is located in MS1C on the University of California, Davis, campus.
